Documentation · Staff

Give each staff member only the access they need.

This guide explains administrators, multiple moderator roles and the extra specialist roles required for sensitive work such as GuildBank review, Recruitment and private Support categories.

Global moderators

Configure more than one moderator role

Add role/moderators roles add role:@Role
Remove role/moderators roles remove role:@Role
Inspect roles/moderators roles overview

A user holding any configured global moderator role is treated as a moderator. Discord Administrator permission continues to grant administrator access independently.

Specialist roles

Global moderator plus system-specific role

SystemRequired accessConfiguration
GuildBank reviewGlobal moderator + Treasurer, or Administrator/guildbank set treasurer
Recruitment reviewGlobal moderator + Recruitment role, or Administrator/recruitment set
Support categoryGlobal moderator + one category staff role, or Administrator/support category

Private staff voting

Anonymous internal candidacies

/moderators set voting channel:#staff-voting
  • Only staff can start a vote or vote.
  • The candidate is selected through their registered main character.
  • Existing staff cannot be nominated again.
  • One Discord account can vote once for each candidate.
  • The initiator and individual voters remain private.
  • Administrators archive the candidacy or invite the selected candidate.

Public applications

Members explain why they want to help

/moderators set applications channel:#applications

The public panel lets eligible guild members apply with their registered main character and allows the guild to vote.

Every application must explain:

  • What the candidate can contribute.
  • Whether they have staff experience in this or another game.
  • Their experience in the current game.
  • How long they can commit, including an indefinite commitment when appropriate.

A second button sends members who prefer privacy to the configured Support channel instead of publishing their application.

Administrators

Administrator is determined by Discord

Luminox does not maintain a separate administrator role list. A member is an administrator when Discord grants the Administrator permission. Administrators can bypass specialist-role requirements where documented, but their actions are still logged.
